A third-generation musician, Evgenia Alekseeva is a professional oboist and pianist with an international career spanning over 1,000 performances in more than 100 cities across the U.S., Europe, Russia, and Asia. From an early age, she was immersed in the world of music, making her solo orchestral debut at age eight and earning top prizes in prestigious competitions as both a pianist and oboist.
She studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music and earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory before completing her Master’s at DePaul University in Chicago. Her training in both European and American traditions has given her rare versatility as a performer and educator.
Notable career highlights include performances with the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of renowned conductors such as Yuri Temirkanov and Mariss Jansons, as well as collaborations with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Louisville Orchestra, Chicago Summer Opera and Chicago Opera Projects, and others. She has appeared in many of the world’s premier venues with capacity up to 10, 000 audience, including the Symphony Center in Chicago, Saint-Petersburg Philharmonia, Mariinsky Theatre, Ice Palace in Saint-Petersburg, and Palais des Congrès in Paris.
In addition to performing, she is a dedicated teacher, currently serving as a Piano Artist Teacher at The People’s Music School in Chicago and offering private instruction for over 30 adults and kids. She also holds a leadership role as Principal Oboist and Orchestra Manager with Intermezzi LLC, combining her performance career with experience in artistic administration.
